It’s hard to believe that Christmas is already over. December is such a hectic month and goes by so quickly that I never feel like I can truly enjoy the Christmas season. There seems to always be so much going on in the month of December. There’s my birthday, Josh’s birthday, my dad’s anniversary of passing, my nephew’s birthday, Christmas shopping, friends wanting to hang out before the year ends, family get-togethers, cooking, cleaning, and so on. The weeks leading up to Christmas become overwhelming and my anxiety gets so intense that I find myself wanting to just stay home and do nothing.
Luckily since I’ve been seeing a therapist over the past few months, this December wasn’t as bad as previous years’. I had a few anxious moments but was able to work through them with deep breathing and meditation. Anxiety and all, I was able to enjoy some holiday festivities this month thanks to my wonderful friends and family.
On Christmas day, my cousin came over and I made a delicious cheese board (which I’ll be sharing in a later post), along with these festive boozy holiday pomegranate drinks!
This drink was inspired by a pomegranate cocktail I had at local sushi restaurant. I guess you could say this beverage is the holiday version of the famous Moscow Mule.
I loved making this drink because not only does it look festive, it’s also really simple to make. It’s a mix of vodka, pomegranate juice, lemon, and ginger beer. With only four ingredients, it makes for a great low-stress cocktail! If you’re going for the extra holiday instagrammable look, you can top it off with pomegranate seeds and a sprig of rosemary, or keep it simple without the garnish 🙂
I hope you enjoy this drink! If you have any suggestions or favorite holiday drinks, feel free to let me know in the comments.
